From February 10th (Tuesday at 5:00 pm) through March 1st, 2009, at the LvivArt Gallery: “Eternity. Spirituality. Life” -- an exhibit of works by husband-and-wife team Viktor and Natalia Prodanchuk. The exhibit features graphic creations on silk and batik by Natalia, as well as sculptures and additional graphic works by Viktor. The creations stand out by virtue of their unique motifs. Predominant are surreal fairy-tale themes, which, rich in symbolism, draw the beholder into a spiritual world of an ancient Slavic past.

 

Viktor Prodanchuk was born in 1975 in Dunayivka, Khmelnytsk region. In 1995, he completed the Metal Works Department of the Kosiv Institute for Decorative and Applied Art. In 2001, he graduated from the Lviv National Art Academy. He currently works in a studio in Lviv focusing on sculptures and graphic art, experimenting with various techniques and materials, including bronze, glass, chamotte, wood, galvanized steel and copper. Many of his works feature elements of the ancient Trypillan culture. Viktor participated in a number of exhibits in Ukraine and abroad. Many of his works can be found in private collections in Ukraine, Russia, Poland, the Czech Republic, Germany, Belgium, the United States and Canada.

 

Natalia Prodanchuk was born in 1976 in Lviv. In 1997, she completed the Design Department of the Lviv Light Industry Technical Institute specializing in model design. In 2003, she graduated from the Design Department of the Lviv National Art Institute specializing in fashion design. Currently she works as a fashion designer and graphic artist. She creates works on linen, experiments with fabric and clay. Incorporates elements from the ancient Trypillian culture as well as some from the Kyiv Rus’ era. Participated in a number of exhibits in Ukraine and abroad.
