- Volodarska-Ishchuk Olha. “Introspection”

18 2009
From March 24 (opening at 5:00 pm) through April 12, 2009, at the LvivArt Gallery: “Introspection” – an exhibit of paintings by Olha Volodarska-Ishchuk.

The artist is primarily a painter and designer, but also has tried her hand at graphic book design. Theatrical themes are dominant in her works. Among her favorite motifs are masks, violins, flower wreaths, candles, chess boards, playing cards, apples and birds nests. The images hail back to a “Silver Age.” In their own times they would have been considered mundane, but today they convey a certain mysticism and innocence.

Olha Volodarska-Ishchuk was born in 1956 in Lviv. She is a graduate of the Lviv Ivan Trush School of Applied and Decorative Arts specializing in artistic design, as well as of the Lviv Institute of Applied and Decorative Art, where she specialized in glass art. From 1982 on she has had four personal exhibits and participated in ten group exhibits in Ukraine as well as abroad. Her works adorn private collections in Ukraine, Poland, Germany, Great Britain, Israel, the United States and Canada.
