… Allow yourself to be taken away by a magic world with fairytale-like beauty – a world under water filled with feelings, love and dreams – a world created by artist Olena Levder. Mermaids, fish – a whole kingdom with an entire cacophony of feelings, emotions and hopes. And like the underwater world with its silent creatures talks to us without a verbal language, so Olena’s world, too, with its creations, speaks volumes without uttering a single word.
Olena started devoting herself to clay sculptures in 2007 when she created her first oceanic underworld “Dreaming of the Sea.” The creation, over the ensuing two years, gave rise to a whole series of works devoted to the same theme. The exhibit “Close Your Eyes and Look” represents the culmination of these labors.
Olena Levder was born in 1980 in the western-Ukrainian city of Uzhorod. From 1995 through 1999 she studied at the Erdeli Uzhorod Art College, subsequently entering the Lviv Art Academy, from which she graduated in 2005.
Her works have been featured at various exhibits in Uzhorod, Lviv and Chervonohrad and can be found in private collections in Ukraine, Poland, Romania, Germany and Canada.
