From September 9 (beginning at 400 pm) through October 5, 2008, at the LvivArt Gallery: Exhibit of paintings by Mykhailo Bezpal’kiv “Roughed Up River Bank.”

Born in 1939, the artist is a graduate of the Lviv Institute of Applied and Decorative Art, which he completed in 1968. Today, he teaches at the Costume Design Department of the Lviv National Academy of Arts. Aside from painting, he also works in graphic art. His works are on exhibit in numerous museums and galleries, and are part of private collections in Ukraine, Poland, Hungary, Germany, France, Belgium, Italy, Russia, the United States and Canada. The artist’s landscape paintings will dominate at the exhibit. The works incapsulate a wide range of mood fluctuations – from the lyrical, light and bright to the serious, philosophical and dark – all offering snapshots of the artist’s perception of his native country. Mykhailo Bezpal’kiv is known as a traveling artist and philosopher in tune life, fellow man and nature. His choice of colors and linear effects, as well as his skillful use of light and shadow have made him unique in his trade.
